KaVic Equestrian

Vicky and Kate were born and raised in the U.K. where their love of horses began at a young age. After riding at several different farms and learning the basics they settled at the farm of U.K. show jumper Chris Ellis. This is where Vicky and Kate received not only solid riding instruction from Eventer, Aileen Tizzard, but an education in horsemanship, show grooming and exposure to the world of professional show jumping from Chris and his wife Allison.

In 2001 after half-leasing different horses and ponies, Vicky and Kate received their wish to own a horse with the purchase of Hugo. Hugo, a 16.1 Irish Sport Horse ,was not always the easiest of horses. After a fractured pelvis and naughty behavior, he was sent to Australian trainers, Chris and Karen Wellings, where he did a lot of growing up.

In 2004, due to their father’s job relocation to NYC, they settled in New Jersey with their parents. Somehow, they convinced their parents that Hugo had to come and, thanks to Chris and Karen, Hugo made it safely to the U.S. 

​

In 2007, Vicky and Kate's parents purchased Winterview Farm in Annandale, NJ. As the herd grew, so did Vicky and Kate's dream of running a professional facility. 

​

After Vicky received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers State University and Kate an Associate’s degree in Visual Arts from Raritan Valley Community College, they continued down the path to become equestrian professionals. 

​

During college, Vicky and Kate trained with and worked for Trainer and Judge, Karen DaPrato, at RiverField Farm.

​

After graduating college Vicky went on to work for Trainer and Judge, AJ Garrity, the Johnson family at Cedar Lane Farm, Missy Clarke and John Brennan of North Run, and the Nordstrom's. 

​

After graduation Kate also worked for AJ Garrity, Liz Perry, Tik Maynard, Ronan McGuigan and  Missy Clarke and John Brennan of North Run. 

​

Working their way through the ranks and gaining the knowledge necessary to run their own facility as grooms, riders, managers and assistant trainers, Vicky decided to form KaVic Equestrian. 

​

They strive to give the absolute best to their students and horses. Their goal is to provide equestrians of all ages the best education not only in the saddle but also in every aspect of horsemanship.

​

When not at the barn, Vicky and Kate spend a lot of time with Kate’s two children London & Weston as well family and friends. They also enjoy taking much needed vacations to their family home in Florida.
